Social reality in rural communication
Abstract
Social reality in rural communication examines the ways in which communication practices help to construct, maintain, and challenge social norms in rural areas. It looks at how communication in rural areas is used to influence attitudes, support relationships, and shape collective identities. It also looks at how digital media are changing the way people interact and communicate in rural areas, and what implications this has for rural life. The research draws from a range of disciplines, including anthropology, sociology, media studies, communication studies, and psychology, to explore the ways in which communication in rural areas is used to construct and sustain social reality.
